It is with great pleasure and honor that we introduce our new Kids Director – the incredible Melissa Bingtan! Melissa brings with her a wealth of experience in the realm of children’s ministry. We are absolutely thrilled that Melissa and her husband Josh have chosen Society Church as their new spiritual home.

Society Kids will embark on an exciting new chapter with Melissa at the helm of our children’s ministry program. Her expertise and passion for nurturing young minds will undoubtedly bring a fresh and invigorating energy to our community. We are confident that under Melissa’s guidance, our kids’ department will flourish and grow in meaningful ways.

Melissa is an absolute gem, and we are overjoyed to have her join our team!

Tell us about your family…

I am married to Josh and we just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary! We love our 3 dogs Pua, Maui and Joey.

Where are you from and how did you meet?

We are from Fairfield and Vallejo, CA. We met at North Hills Church through Vacation Bible School. I was teaching preschool crafts and Josh was helping lead worship.

How long have you been attending Society Church?

We have been attending Society since July.

What do you like most about Sacramento?

We really like all of the different food places and that everything is pretty close by. We also appreciate that Sacramento is full of opportunities to pursue something new and get connected to different communities.

What are some of your favorite things to do, what are your hobbies?

I enjoy baking and reading books. Josh enjoys DJing/producing music as well as golfing.

Why did you pursue kids ministry?

I remember when I was growing up I always looked forward to coming to church because of what we would do in Kids Ministry. The seed that was planted and continued to grow through the years happened because there were leaders that loved on me and poured into me. I love partnering with parents to start the foundation of faith when kids are still young.

What’s your favorite thing about Sundays with the kids?

My favorite thing about Sundays in the classroom is the crafts. It allows kids to be creative and to share with others what they learned about. They’re able to take ownership over what they’ve created as well as learning about God.

Share a fun fact about your family…

Josh is left handed but plays guitar, drums, and golf right handed.
