Compassion Initiatives: Generosity In Motion

This holiday, Society Church has chosen three significant causes to rally behind. As a local church, we believe that our impact is meant to be felt by those in our faith community as well as our city and the world.

Why is this important? Compassion is our response to the suffering that we see around us. It compels us to help. The scriptures are clear that the story of God is one that expresses compassion towards those in need. We believe that the church is meant to carry this out. At Society Church, we want to be disciples that go out of our way to help the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of others.

Here is how Jesus described compassion in Matthew 25:35-36, 40:

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me… ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
